Stand Plant

A stand plant permit is required under Section 138 of the Roads Act 1993 and Section 68 of the Local Government Act 1993, when there is a need to place a plant on a public road or footpath. 

A stand plant permit application covers the following types of plant: 

  • concrete trucks and pumps
  • mobile crane 
  • cherry picker
  • scissor lift
  • excavators
  • loading and/or unloading purposes
  • Other elevating devices.

A stand plant permit can also be provided for approval to erect holdings, scaffolding and ground anchors in public spaces.

Step 1.Prepare Documents

To apply for a stand plant permit you must provide:

  • Public Liability Insurance Certificate of Currency (minimum $20,000,000 with an endorsement of Hunter's Hill Council as an interested party)
  • Traffic control plan (certified by an RMS accredited ticket holder)
  • written approval from Glades Police Traffic Sergeant

Step 2.Select Date

Applications must be submitted a minimum of seven business days prior to proposed work date or an urgency fee of $606.50 applies. Applications submitted with less than three days noticed will be refused.

Step 3.Apply and Pay

The stand plant permit fee is $455.50 per item, per day.

Step 4.Receive Your Permit

Council staff will email you a copy of your permit once it has been approved. A copy of this approval must be available on site at all times.

Under no circumstances should work commence without receipt of a permit from Council.
