Riverglade Reserve

Riverglade Reserve features a wonderful mixture of both mangrove wetlands and open grassy areas. There is a walking/cyclist track that runs through the entire length of the reserve, which is very popular with our community. There are also two large soccer pitches, which can be booked for sporting activities (see below for more details).

Toilet facilities are open during daylight hours.

Riverglade enjoys off-leash authorisation, however, this does not apply to the entire reserve. There is a map provided in the photo collection, however, the off-leash area includes the area east of the concrete spillway which runs between the two sediment ponds in the centre of the Reserve, extending up to the eastern end of the Reserve, down by the water. Please remember that off-leash dogs must still be under the control of a responsible and capable person.

Off-leash times: 24/7, however, official bookings of the sports fields will always have priority in their usage of the field.

Hours of sports field hiring are: 7:00am – 22:00pm, allowed 6:00am for set up. Competitive Sport cannot commence before 8:00am. Maximum duration: 12 hours.

Observation platform that overhangs the Tarban Creek, this location allows you to more closely observe the flying foxes. The lookout platform is made of wood and the sun can be seen filtering in through the trees.

Photo shows some of the extensive mangrove wetland environment that makes Riverglade Reserve such a critical environment for our native wildlife. The grove extends for up to a hundred meters in frame and eventually it becomes obscured by distance.

Extensive storm clouds can be seen in the sky but the sunlight is illuminating the outer edges. The left pathway leads down next to the water whereas the right pathway leads down past more trees.
