Justice of the Peace

Two peoples hands signing documents

Justices of the Peace (JPs) are volunteers appointed by the Governor of New South Wales. The primary roles of a JP (JP) are to witness a person making a statutory declaration or affidavit, and to certify copies of original documents.

You can find a JP in online Public Register. You can search by postcode, name of a JP, day of availability, language spoken and JP registration number.

The register lists a JP’s location, availability and telephone number.
