Household Clean-Ups

All households in Hunters Hill are entitled to four clean-ups collections, per calendar year. Clean-ups are limited to 3 cubic metres per collection.

What can be Collected?

  • waste materials
  • furniture, soft furnishing and broken toys
  • flat packed kitchens with any nails removed
  • general household items (bagged and weighing less than 10kg per bag)
  • carpet (bundled with string, in rolls no greater than 1.2m in length)
  • small appliances and whitegoods
  • mattresses (as a separate booking). 

What cannot be Collected?

  • building waste (soil, stone, concrete etc)
  • treated timber and pallets
  • chemicals and liquid waste such as paint or oil
  • gas cylinders
  • batteries
  • televisions and computers
  • motor vehicle parts and tyres
  • oversized items (clotheslines, toilets, commercial fridges etc).

Organic waste (food scraps, grass clippings etc) and recyclables (bottles, cardboard etc) will also not be collected and should be disposed off in your recycling or green bin.

Step 1.Book Online

Before booking, we recommend you read the above information to ensure that you understand what can and cannot be collected. 

You will need need to agree to the terms and condition and provide details of your items in the items checklist. Please ensure that you indicate if you are disposing of mattresses, white goods or metals.

Step 2.Receive Confirmation

Once your household clean-up has been booked, you will receive a confirmation email, with booking reference number and collection date. 

Place the items for collection outside on the property boundary the night before your scheduled collection date, making sure that it is still safe for pedestrians to access the footpath. Do not place your items out earlier, as people may add to your pile which can delay your collection. 

Step 3.Collection

Your items will be collected by URM. 

General items are collected on Mondays or Tuesday, while white goods are collected on Wednesdays. Mattresses are collected on Mondays and will only be collected if they were identified in your item checklist.
