The Hunters Hill Citizen of the Year Awards recognise the outstanding accomplishments of individuals and groups who make a positive contribution to our community.

Nominations are currently closed.

Awards will be presented on Australia Day.

Categories

Nominations are being called for in six categories:

Citizen of the Year

Any resident aged 25 years or over as of 26 January 2024, who has contributed in a significant manner to the wider community in a voluntary or paid capacity.

Must be a resident or affiliated with an association or community group within the Hunters Hill local government area.

Young Citizen of the Year

Any young person aged 12 to 24 years old as of 26 January 2023, who has contributed in a significant manner to the wider community or their school community in a voluntary capacity.

Must be a resident or affiliated with an association or community group within Hunters Hill local government area.

Sportsperson of the Year

Any sports person who has achieved outstanding individual results in their chosen sport, or who has contributed significantly to the success of their team.

If nominating an individual they must be a resident or affiliated with an association or community group within the Hunters Hill local government area.

Community Group of the Year

Any community group that has contributed significantly to the well-being of Hunters Hill residents.

Must be a resident or affiliated with an association or community group within the Hunters Hill local government area.

Community Event/Project of the Year

A person or group delivering outstanding work on an event or project for the community.

Must be a resident or affiliated with an association or community group within the Hunters Hill local government area.

Environmental Citizen of the Year

Any individuals or organisation that has demonstrated outstanding efforts to preserve the environment, reduce litter and improve recycling.

Must be a resident or affiliated with an association or community group within the Hunters Hill local government area.

Judging

A panel will judge the nominations and winners will be presented with their awards on Australia Day 2024.
