Riverglade Reserve

Shows the access bridge that leads from Manning Road into Riverglade reserve. Bridge is flanked by tall trees which host a large colony of flying foxes.

Western Entrance (off Manning road)

(JPG, 573KB)
Photo shows view from on top of a grassy hill with a moderate incline. On the right hand side of frame are some dwellings in the far background, and on the left hand side, at the base of the hill, is pathway that leads further into Riverglade. The pathway is flanked by heavy tree/mangrove coverage.

Observation platform that overhangs the Tarban Creek, this location allows you to more closely observe the flying foxes. The lookout platform is made of wood and the sun can be seen filtering in through the trees.

Photo shows some of the extensive mangrove wetland environment that makes Riverglade Reserve such a critical environment for our native wildlife. The grove extends for up to a hundred meters in frame and eventually it becomes obscured by distance.

Riverglade Reserve Mangroves

(JPG, 587KB)
Photo shows a very wide angle view of the cyclist and foot traffic pathway. The pathway forks into a left and right option, both eventually leading back around to the start. Extensive storm clouds can be seen in the sky but the sunlight is illuminating the outer edges. The left pathway leads down next to the water whereas the right pathway leads down past more trees.

Cyclist and pedestrian pathway

(JPG, 456KB)
Photo is shot from a low angle, it shows a gentlemen taking his border collie for a walk along the footpath that flanks the Tarban Creek. The water is very still, so the clouds and the adjacent mangrove trees can be seen reflecting on the surface. The sky is heavily overcast with a beautiful amount of sunlight playing on their surface in the far background. The man and his dog are walking side by side (man on the left, dog on the right), both walking away from the camera.

The first of two soccer pitches, wide angle shot showing the wide open space, flanked by trees on the left and right, showing dwellings very far in the background, as well as a sky with overcast clouds, but still lots of blue.

(JPG, 467KB)
A wide angle photo showing the second (larger) soccer pitch, as well as the Joly Parade Footbridge (which allows access to/from the reserve). The sky is exceptionally large and features overcast clouds on the left hand side and beautiful clear blue sky on the right hand side. The Gladesville Bridge is just barely visible in the background.

Larger Soccer Pitch

(JPG, 787KB)
Photo is taken from the Joly Parade Footbridge, shows the Tarban Creek on the left hand side and a view of the Riverglade Reserve soccer pitches on the right hand side. Gladesville Bridge visible in the background and an extensive sky with clouds visible in the top of frame.
