Hunter’s Hill Council has installed its first electric vehicle (EV) fast charging station at the Council carpark on 3A Cowell Street, Gladesville.

This new infrastructure is now fully operational, providing a convenient and efficient charging option for the growing number of EV owners in the community.

Installed in partnership with Evie Networks, the fast charger features two dedicated charging bays clearly marked for EV use.

Given that around 40% of residents in our LGA live in medium to high-density housing without access to home charging, the availability of this public fast charger is a critical step in supporting the community’s transition to electric vehicles.

Mayor Zac Miles said Hunter’s Hill is ranked fifth highest in the state for EV ownership, with over 300 electric vehicles registered locally.

“Installing our first fast EV charger is a significant step forward in supporting the significant growth within our community of EV and hybrid vehicle owners," he said.

“We’re proud to lead by example and will continue to support the evolving needs of our municipality.”

The Council is continuing discussions with other providers to expand the EV charging network throughout the Local Government Area, helping to make electric vehicle ownership more accessible and convenient for all residents.

This initiative supports NSW’s broader goal of accelerating the adoption of zero-emission vehicles and reducing carbon emissions across the state.

This project was funded through the NSW Government’s Electric Vehicle Kerbside Charging Grants, with no direct cost to the Council or residents.
