An MLAK enables people with disability to have access to designated accessible public toilets 24 hour, 7 days a week.

MLAK'S can be ordered from from the Master Locksmiths Association of Australia by competing the order form on their website.

The purchase of an MLAK is restricted to people who have a disability or have written authority from one of the following:

  • Doctor
  • Disability Organisation
  • Community Health Centre
  • Owner/Manager of accessible toilet

Council does not provide or manage MLAK's.

You can find other MLAK facilities across Australia on the National Public Toilet Map.

Changing Places Toilets

Changing Places toilets are secure facilities in public places for people with disability who have high support needs and require additional space and assistance to use a bathroom. They can only be accessed with an MLAK key. A Changing Places facility includes:

  • an adult-size, height adjustable change table
  • a ceiling tracking hoist
  • privacy screen
  • a central toilet with enough room for two people to assist either side

A Changing Places toilet facility allows people with high support needs to participate in all elements of community life, without having to limit their time out due to concerns about being able to access a suitable toilet.
