We want to empower our residents to improve their recycling practices, live more sustainably and work towards becoming a zero waste community. So, we’ve partnered with Recycle Smart to make it easier.
The app provides specific and localised information on how to correctly dispose of over 250 waste items. From glass to batteries or chemicals – find the answer at your fingertips. You can even use the app to look up your next collection day and find out about local waste events.
Recycling the tricky stuff (like e-waste and clothing):
• Fill a RecycleSmart bag (or your own) with your “non-bin” items and book a pickup in a few clicks
• The RecycleSmart team will come to your doorstep and ensure your waste is properly recycled.
• Subscribe for free for a monthly pickup (2 bags) or book a on demand pickup for $5 per bag.
• Right now, 20% of red bin waste could be recycled. Help us keep it out of landfill, and keep our community beautiful!
Donate your household goods to The Bower, and they will resell them back to the community at low cost, or get them to people in need via their house to home program.
If you have issues with having you bins raided ensure your bins are kept on private property and emptied of eligible containers before being placed out for weekly collection.
Bottles, cans and cartons make up a large proportion of the litter on our streets, beaches and green spaces. Tackling the problem costs NSW millions of dollars every year. Return and Earn is a way for us all to help solve the litter problem and be rewarded for our efforts.
Every residential property owner paying a domestic waste charge (in conjunction with their rates) is entitled to 4 household clean ups per financial year of 3m3.
Read the details on how to present your clean up and what is and what is not acceptable when you make your booking.
