Hunter’s Hill Council has resolved on 23 September 2019 to exhibit the draft Hunters Hill Local Government Area Flood Study. The draft Flood Study was exhibited from Tuesday 8 October to Wednesday 4 December 2019.
The draft Study identifies flood-prone land, in accordance with the NSW Government’s Floodplain Development Manual. Council undertook the study to help manage risks from flooding and increase flood awareness. The results of the study will assist the community to better understand and plan for the possible flood risks they face.

What happens next?
This draft Flood Study is only the first step in the floodplain management process. The next step is to undertake a Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan to determine floodplain management measures to mitigate the flood risk to property owners and occupiers. The study also considers and determines suitable Flood Planning Levels and planning controls to guide future development.
