The NSW Government introduced planning panels for some regions in NSW to undertake a number of development and planning functions, and in particular, to determine regionally significant development applications. The Panel was set up in November 2016, and includes the Hunters Hill municipality.
Council has a vacant position on the Panel, which requires expertise in planning, architecture, heritage, the environment, urban design, land economics, traffics and transport, law, engineering or tourism.
Council seeks expressions of interest from suitably qualified persons, to fill the position. The positions would be for up to nine months, to align with the next Local Government election set for September 2020, at which time the two positions on the Panel would be re-nominated.
Expressions of interest are due by 18 January, 2021.
