In an alleged act of vandalism, a tree planted at Clarkes Point in commemoration of World War II was damaged over the weekend.

We are working on measures to prevent further damage and to potentially increase surveillance in the area.

The deliberate poisoning or vandalism of trees is illegal. Court fines of up to $1.1 million may apply. Council can also issue on-the-spot fines of up to $3000.
