MEDIA RELEASE
Traffic calming measures are set to be introduced on local roads in Boronia Park in response to community concerns about rat-running and speeding vehicles.
Hunter’s Hill Council resolved at its meeting on Monday night (18 July) to install rubber speed cushions on High Street, between Pittwater and Park roads.
It follows community consultation and recommendations of a Local Area Traffic Management Plan, as well as the endorsement of the Hunters Hill Local Traffic Committee.
The works will be completed as part of a road resurfacing project on High Street, between Pittwater and Park roads.
Residents on High Street will be notified prior to the commencement of works.
Council also received an update at its meeting on Monday on events coming soon to Hunters Hill.
Among the highlights are the Young in Art (20 to 23 October) and Hunters Hill Art exhibitions (12 to 20 November), which will be staged in Town Hall.
A date – 4 December – has also been set for Carols in the Park at Boronia Park ovals.
It follows the announcement earlier this month of the return of the Moocooboola Festival, on 20 August, to Town Hall and surrounds, after a two-year break due to COVID lockdowns.
The Council also resolved on Monday to sponsor The Hunters Hill Quilters’ 2022 Show, also coming to Town Hall, from 4 to 7 August.
