While cafes and restaurants are now serving takeaway only, in line with latest directives from the Federal Government, we know our awesome Hunters Hill community is still keen to support local business however it can.

That might be grabbing a coffee to go, or ordering dinner for home delivery.

In the case of coffee, many people, especially those with a focus on environmental sustainability, are already in the habit of taking a reusable coffee cup in which to collect their caffeine.

At a time of increased community focus on public health measures, we’re hearing many coffee drinkers ask: will cafes continue to accept patrons’ reusable cups for take away coffees?

That is likely to be a decision of the local business owner or manager – and it is important to respect that we are all having to live a little differently at the moment.

If you continue to use a “keep cup”, make sure it has been appropriately washed.

Proper cleaning involves putting a cup through a dishwasher cycle or hand washing (using hot soapy water for 30 seconds and allowing it to air dry).

We all have a role to play in keeping our community strong, safe and resilient at all times, especially now.
