MEDIA RELEASE

Councillor Ross Williams will serve as Mayor of Hunters Hill for the next year and Clr Jim Sanderson as Deputy Mayor, following an extraordinary meeting of Council tonight (Wednesday 9 September, 2020).

It comes after previous mayor Mark Bennett decided not to continue for an additional year in the role, as local council elections originally scheduled for September 2020 have been postponed for 12 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Clr Williams said tonight that he looked forward to working with Council and the community.

“It’s a great privilege to be able to serve your community as a Councillor,” he said.

“It’s also a great honour to do that as Mayor of Hunters Hill.”

Clr Sanderson will continue as Deputy Mayor, having served in the role for the past year.
