Hunter’s Hill Council is partnering with TAFE NSW to utilise Boronia Park as a site to train students studying Arboriculture.

The TAFE Arboriculture Program provides students a qualification with occupation outcomes within a range of specialised skills in the arboriculture industry.

The partnership aims to provide students with practical experience in assessing trees under the direction of TAFE NSW and Council’s Landscape Coordinator.

It is hoped that the undertaking of ground-based tree work activities will help consolidate the skills the students need in order to create a pathway for further learning that is required for arborists.

Council has notified residents of the upcoming maintenance work which is due to commence in November 2019. The students will be conducting maintenance work only which involves the removal of dead wood (for example, branches not whole trees).

For enquiries please contact Council’s Parks and Landscape Coordinator on (02) 9879 9400.
