Framing Life is a custom framing and photography business based in Boronia Park.
It brings proprietor Pete Kenny in contact with families, businesses, sporting clubs, schools and artists from across Hunters Hill.
People bring all sorts of items to Framing Life that they want to capture and display, from wedding photos, to a child’s first artwork, graduation certificates, concert posters and HSC artworks.
Some of the more unique items Pete has framed include: an x-ray, plate and screws from a broken leg; and a smashed plate, which was a favourite of a customer’s mother but accidentally broken by their two-year-old daughter.
Photography ranges from passport pictures to team photos and family portraits, including Hunter’s Hill Council’s recent Driveway Portrait Father’s Day competition series.
“We engage with quite a big variety of the community, quite a big cross section,” Pete said.
“It’s nice to have connections.”
“The people in this community are really wonderful people.
“Custom framing … we often deal with people at quite an extremely important part of their lives.
“Quite often, more than not, they like to share a little bit of that story.
“You end up having quite a strong connection with your community.”
