About this volunteer role

Hunters Hill Bushcare volunteers learn and work together to improve the health of our urban bushland and increase the number of native plants and animals, whilst creating beautiful spaces for our community to enjoy.

Volunteers meet for sessions across Hunters Hill each month, and all ages are welcome.

Come join us, and learn something new and exciting about your local bushland every session!

There are so many benefits to joining a Bushcare group!

  • Find out about native plants and animals, and learn to identify them in the bush.
  • Help native species regrow, and create more habitat for threatened animals.
  • Explore the impacts of invasive species on the Australian landscape.
  • Put into practice invasive species identification and control strategies.
  • Learn professional, and sustainable bush regeneration techniques.
  • Join a diverse and enthusiastic group of like-minded people.
  • Make new friends!
  • Take on an empowering new skill set.
  • And, enjoy the fresh air and time outdoors.
  • No prior experience is necessary.

What’s required

Type of work:

  • Education and training.
  • Garden Maintenance.

Commitment:

  • One off, a few hours.

Time required:

  • Our groups meet for approximately two hours each month.

Training:

  • All necessary training is conducted on site by specialised council staff.
