Hunter’s Hill Council has a vast network of cycling tracks. Whether you want to cycle work, cycle to school, cycle to do your shopping, cycle to visit friends or just cycle for relaxation there is a pathway near you.
Council adopted its latest Bike Plan in March 2021, following public exhibition and input from a working party comprising residents, Council staff and consultants.
The plan aims to promote and encourage bicycle use, with the intention that the use of active transport will have positive impacts on the health and wellbeing of the community.
Actions identified in the plan include shared paths, bike lockers, refuge islands, local area traffic interventions and wayfinding.
Council has constructed a small cycle track at Buffalo Creek Reserve near the playground equipment. Its a great place for the children to learn the road rules and its safe!
Over the past few years Council has developed, and continues to develop a system of cycleways which, when complete will link Hunters Hill to Lane Cove, Ryde and Canada Bay. A Northern Sydney Cycling Map can be obtained from Council that identifies bike routes in Hunters Hill and surrounding councils.
Bicycle North has a strong presence in the northern suburbs and is continually organising interesting bike rides for all grades of cyclists.
