Join Hunter’s Hill Council in celebrating the Season at Carols in the Park 2021.

Enjoy your favourite Christmas music as you picnic in the park with family and friends, and marvel at the annual sunset fireworks display.

Featuring appearances by Santa,  MucDubh & Friends, Jordyn & Alexa, and Fr Aliki’s Holy Name of Mary Parish Ukulele Group.

Food

Bring Your Own food and drink as there will be none for sale at the event.

Hunter’s Hill Council encourages you to minimise plastic and waste by packing a sustainable picnic and taking your rubbish home with you.

Health and Safety

All attendees are required to be fully vaccinated against Covid 19 (or have proof of medical exemption) and will need to check in with the Service NSW App.

Please do not attend if you are unwell and make sure to follow all public health orders.

What time does it start?

5pm – performances begin at 6.30pm

Do I need a ticket?

No. You will not need to reserve a ticket this year.

Do I need to Check In?

    • Yes, you will need to check in via the Services NSW App Covid-Safe Check-in.
    • QR code signs will be placed around the Oval.
    • Staff will monitor check-ins and will provide wristbands when confirmed.
    • Covid-Safe Marshals will be on site.

Do I need to be double vaccinated to attend?

    • Yes, anyone 16 years of age and over will need to show their vaccination certificate for the Covid-19 vaccine.
    • If you have a medical exemption you will need to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test result from the previous 3 days.

What else can I do to stay Covid-Safe?

    • Do not attend if you or anyone in your household is feeling unwell, has been deemed a close contact or is awaiting a Covid-19 test result.
    • Please maintain good hygiene and practice social distancing when at the event.
    • A hand-wash station will be available near the portable toilets in the car park
    • Take all rubbish home with you.
    • Bring a mask to wear if you can’t practice physical distancing or are catching public transport.
    • A reminder that a Covid-19 testing clinic is located at Princes Lane next to Boronia Park Oval 2 should you need to get tested in the days leading up to the event. Only attend if you have a negative result.

Are the fireworks happening this year?

Yes, the fireworks display should occur between 8.30pm and 8.50pm depending on weather and light levels. The event will conclude at the end of the fireworks or when announced over the PA.

Fireworks will only be launched if deemed safe to do so.

Oval 2 will be closed to the public during fireworks set-up, launch and pack down.

Who is performing?

Local acts MucDubh, Jordyn & Alexa, and Fr Aliki’s Holy Name of Mary Parish Ukelele Group will perform in the Grandstand from 6.30pm

Is Santa going to visit?

Yes, Santa will be visiting early in the evening.

Where can I park?

    • There is no parking available at Boronia Park Ovals.
    • We encourage locals to walk to the Oval.
    • Please obey all parking signs and restrictions.
    • Attendees should avoid dropping passengers off in Park Rd or Ryde Rd.

Can I catch a bus?

Yes, the usual Sunday bus timetable will apply. Please make sure you give yourself enough time to arrive and depart the Ovals safely. There are no extra buses or shuttle buses. Take care when exiting or alighting as there may be extra traffic around.

What do I need to bring?

    • A picnic and drinks
    • A rug or low chairs to sit on
    • Re-useable cups and plates
    • Sunscreen and hats
    • A small torch
    • A rubbish bag to take your rubbish away with you.

Are there any stalls or food trucks this year?

    • No, there are no stalls (either food or goods) or food trucks this year.
    • You will need to bring all of your own food and drinks

Are there rides?

No, there are no rides this year.

Are the Scouts collecting for Return & Earn this year?

Yes, Boronia Park Scouts will be collecting plastic bottles and cans. Please don’t crush these items.

Can I bring my dog?

    • Yes, but you will need to keep them on a lead due to many people being on the Oval and sitting on the ground.
    • Please pick up and dispose of any waste.
    • Be aware that fireworks will be happening after 8.30pm.

What if it is raining?

    • The event will be cancelled if there is heavy rain on the day or the Oval is waterlogged and unsafe from heavy rain the previous day.
    • Please check social media and the Hunter’s Hill Council website for confirmation.
    • The fireworks will continue if safe to do so.
