The area running below the Tarban Creek Bridge acts as a link between Riverglade Reserve on Tarban Creek, and Betts Park along the lower Parramatta River. The Bushcare group here have been steadily working towards creating a nature corridor which would link the existing corridors across the two reserves. Their efforts, concentrated on re-introducing native plant species through regular plantings, and their dedication to maintaining these plantings are certainly paying off, with a group of Superb Fairy-Wrens having recently been spotted nesting amongst the planted species!
Joining in with the Tarban Creek Bridge Bushcare Group is an excellent way to learn about the possibilities of utilising difficult and unexpected areas around existing infrastructure, like bridges, to create thriving natural spaces for native plants and wildlife alike.
