Friends of Buffalo Creek and the Great North Walk

Our Buffalo Creek Bushcare site is located near the Field of Mars Educational Centre and the gorgeous Lane Cove National Park. The combination of the shallow waters of the wetland and estuary areas, paired with the narrow foreshore bushland on this site, make it a very significant natural corridor hosting a colourful range of aquatic and terrestrial birds.

The Friends of Buffalo Creek and the Great North Walk are a welcoming group with mixed experience, all very enthusiastic about protecting, and restoring this exciting portion of bush along the Great North Walk. Their work involves identifying and treating or removing weeds encroaching on our healthy patches of bush so that native species can continue to thrive and re-establish themselves. The site has a wide range of weeds trying to make their mark, so come along and join us in the fight to keep this crucial corridor beautiful and clear!

This Bushcare group meets on the third Saturday of each month, at 11.00am.
