Before lodging a development application, applicants are strongly advised to undertake a Preliminary Consultation Meeting (PCM) especially if the works relate to:
During this meeting preliminary advice for the development application is provided to the attendees which identifies potential areas of non-compliance. Advice is provided on how your application could be altered to comply with Council’s development controls. Development Assessment Officers, Council’s Environmental Health & Building Surveyor and Heritage Advisor are in attendance to provide advice.
This early advice can improve the success of your application and save applicants time and money.
Preliminary Consultation Meetings are held every Wednesday morning between 9.30 and 11am (subject to availability). Each application receives a 30 minute allocation of time.
To attend this meeting a booking must be made through Council’s Customer Service Department on 9879 9400 or in person at 22 Alexandra Street, Hunters Hill.
Please note at least one owner of the property must be in attendance at the meeting otherwise a minimum fee of $450.00 (depending on the type of development) has to be paid before the meeting.
An application form should be completed and be accompanied by a set of concept plans, elevations, floor plans, sites plans and any other relevant supporting documentation that will enable the Panel to gain an appreciation of what is proposed.
This information is required to be emailed to Council (customerservice@huntershill.nsw.gov.au) and received no later than 4.30pm on the Tuesday the week before the meeting. If this material is not received in time your consultation may be deferred.

After the meeting minutes are sent to the applicant listed on the application form, these are usually sent out within 10 working days.
