Woolwich is at the eastern tip of the Hunter’s Hill Council peninsula and is bounded by the Lane Cove and Parramatta Rivers.
Woolwich is characterised by its large blocks, sandstone homes, foreshore access, tree lined streets and vantage points to the Harbour Bridge.
A number of key sites make Woolwich a destination for locals and visitors alike, including:
Clarkes Point Reserve is popular for dog walkers, picnickers, families and tourists. It provides a fantastic spot to take in views of the Harbour Bridge and Cockatoo Island.
Woolwich Dock
Woolwich Dock, which is a sandstone dry dock was built in 1901 and has a long tradition of shipbuilding and maintenance. Woolwich Dock is managed by the Sydney Harbour Trust. The site is still a working dock. However, there is a restaurant and function centre (Deckhouse), in addition to a number of walking tracks around the area.
The Valentia Street Wharf is home to the Woolwich ferry stop, which takes commuters into Darling Harbour. From all accounts the ferry ride across the Harbour is a lovely way to start and end the day.
Woolwich has also become a destination for great dining, including; the Woolwich Pier Hotel, Ironwood, Deckhouse, Cucinetta and Moonlight.
An amazing location, coupled with fabulous food and events (including the New Years Eve Festival at Clarkes Point Reserve) make Woolwich an incredible place to live or visit.
