Community Participation Plan

Home > Community Participation Plan

Council endorsed the draft Plan for public exhibition at its meeting on Monday, 23 September 2019.

We invite the community’s feedback on the new draft Community Participation Plan.

Community participation in the land use planning system provides people with the opportunity to have a say and be involved in Council’s planning functions under the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act, 1979.

The draft Plan sets out our community participation requirements under planning legislation, including how and when people can be involved in planning matters assessed and determined by Council through exhibition and notification periods.  Planning matters include the:

  • Plan-making function – community participation plan, local strategic planning statement, planning proposals for amendment to local environmental plans, development controls plans, contribution plans, planning agreements
  • Development application function

The draft Plan replicates the minimum participation requirements for plan-making outlined in planning legislation.

The draft Plan extends the minimum participation requirements for development applications in planning legislation and replicates the requirements of the Notification Policy in Hunters Hill Consolidated Development Control Plan 2013.

On exhibition

The draft Plan is now on public exhibition until Sunday 10 November 2019.
