Carols in the Park is a free community event, held in Boronia Park, Hunters Hill on the first Sunday in December.

At Boronia Park Ovals (Oval 1), Cnr Ryde Rd and Park Rd, Hunters Hill

Performances begin around 6.30pm

No. You will not need to reserve a ticket this year.

Yes, the fireworks display should occur between 8.30pm and 8.50pm depending on weather and light levels. The event will conclude at the end of the fireworks or when announced over the PA.

Fireworks will only be launched if deemed safe to do so.

Oval 2 will be closed to the public during fireworks set-up, launch and pack down.

EVENT: Carols in the Park

LENGTH: 7 minutes

FIRING TIME: Between 8.30pm and 8:45pm

PROVIDER: Howard & Sons Pyrotechnics

The firing time is subject to change due to e.g. inclement weather, safety risk assessment, event schedule, etc. We will endeavour to launch the display within 30 minutes (+ or -) of the proposed firing time.

If you have any pets, animals and/or livestock you may like to take some measures in preparation for the display.

The Cameraygal Wind Symphony will perform in the Grandstand from 6.30pm. Santa’s Helpers will also be visiting throughout the event.

Yes, Santa will visiting early in the evening.

  • There is no parking available at Boronia Park Ovals.
  • We encourage locals to walk to the Oval.
  • Please obey all parking signs and restrictions.
  • Attendees should avoid dropping passengers off in Park Rd or Ryde Rd.

Yes, the usual Sunday bus timetable will apply. Please make sure you give yourself enough time to arrive and depart the Ovals safely. There are no extra buses or shuttle buses. Take care when exiting or alighting as there may be extra traffic around. It is recommended to wear a mask when travelling on public transport.

  • Some food stalls will be available, so bring money or a card
  • A rug or low chairs to sit on
  • Re-useable cups and plates if you bring your own food
  • Sunscreen and hats
  • A small torch
  • A rubbish bag to take your rubbish away with you
  • BYO Alcohol (no alcoholic beverages are available to purchase on site)
  • There will be small number of stalls and/or food trucks this year.

No, there are no rides this year.

  • Yes, but you will need to keep them on a lead due to many people being on the Oval and sitting on the ground.
  • Please pick up and dispose of any waste.
  • Be aware that fireworks will be happening after 8.30pm.
  • The event will be cancelled if there is heavy rain on the day or the Oval is waterlogged and unsafe from heavy rain the previous day.
  • Please check social media and the Hunter’s Hill Council website for confirmation.
  • The fireworks will continue if safe to do so.
  • There is no requirement to check in. However, this facility will be made available should Health Regulations change.
  • Do not attend if you or anyone in your household is feeling unwell, has been deemed a close contact or is awaiting a COVID-19 test result.
  • Please maintain good hygiene and practice social distancing when at the event.
  • A hand-wash station will be available near the portable toilets in the car park
  • Take all rubbish home with you.
  • A reminder that a COVID-19 testing clinic is located at Princes Lane next to Boronia Park Oval 2 should you need to get tested in the days leading up to the event. Please only attend if you have a negative result.
