Provisions of the State Environmental Planning Policy (Vegetation in Non-Rural Areas) 2017 and Hunters Hill Consolidated Development Control Plan 2013 apply to the management and maintenance of existing trees and vegetation in Hunters Hill.
Together these documents require that development consent or a permit is obtained from Hunter’s Hill Council before altering any “Prescribed Vegetation”.
Council’s list of “Prescribed Vegetation” is provided under clause 2.3.3 of its Consolidated Development Control Plan 2013. This clause is shown below.
If you wish to alter any “Prescribed Vegetation” you must apply to Council using one of the below forms:
At the top of the Tree and Vegetation Management Application Form you must indicate whether you are applying for a permit or development consent.
Development consent is only required for:
Removal of heritage listed trees; removal of “Prescribed Vegetation” on heritage properties and removal of “Prescribed Vegetation” in heritage conservation areas.
In all other instances a permit application is required for management of “Prescribed Vegetation.”
Heritage conservation areas and heritage properties are shown on the heritage maps that are part of Hunters Hill Local Environmental Plan 2012.
The following vegetation is prescribed by this Plan:
Notes. Ground level (existing) is defined by the Hunters Hill LEP 2012.
In this chapter, bushland is defined as vegetation which either is the remainder of natural vegetation upon the site, or vegetation which has been altered but remains representative of the site’s natural vegetation in terms of structure and floristics.
