Back in September 2018, Council resolved to refuse the GSV Planning Proposal. This was due to a number of reasons, including traffic impacts and a lack of justification for the proposed increase in height and floor space ratio.
Council also requested amendments to the Planning Proposal incorporating the Design Excellence and Open provisions which were sent to the Department of Planning & Industry (DoPI).
Council is awaiting determination of the Planning Proposal by the DoPI and will provide an update on the Planning Proposal and Council’s submission once known.
Council has installed fairy lights to the beautiful trees in Cowell Street. This is now a lovely entry statement to Gladesville. Council has invested $15,000 into this project.
Council resolved in late 2018 to undertake a Master Plan for the Gladesville area. An updated design and growth vision is planned, based on place-based planning principles.
The project includes coordinating a number of tasks over the coming months, including meetings with City of Ryde to better coordinate Gladesville’s improvements; identifying key sites for innovative consolidation, identifying growth sites for development.
The Master Plan is planned to be completed in conjunction with LSPS by December 2019. Review of the Gladesville Village Centre development controls (Hunters Hill DCP) will also be addressed.
Hunter’s Hill Council and the City of Ryde Council organise Gladesville Main Street Committee Meetings.
These meetings provide an opportunity to bring key stakeholders, including residents, business owners and the Chamber of Commerce together to discuss and implement ideas and initiatives for the area.
If you have an idea for discussion please email Council: firstname.lastname@example.org
