Hunter’s Hill Council Volunteer Nominations For Committees and Groups

As a requirement of the Local Government Act (1993), all Council Committee and Groups appointments ceased in conjunction with the close of the last term of Council. Following the recent Local Government Election, the new Council will review the purpose and specified function of each committee and is in a position to appoint committee members for a further four years.

An invitation is extended to serve as a community representative on Council Committees/Groups until September 2016.

Nominations will be received up until Friday 16 November, 2012, for the following Committees and Advisory Groups. Application forms are available from the Customer Service Centre, phone 9879 9400 or by clicking on the link below.

Committee/Advisory Group Meet
Art Exhibition Advisory Committee Eight community reps appointed by nomination for four years to provide advice to Council on the development and management of the annual Hunters Hill Art Exhibition. As well as to contribute ideas, community and cultural knowledge to assist the Exhibition; And to make recommendations to Council on any significant operational aspects of the Exhibition. Monthly (Evenings)
Moocooboola Festival Committee Eight community reps, representing a diverse cross section of the community and appointed by nomination for four years to conduct and participate in this annual community festival. As well as to provide advice to Council on the development and management of the annual Hunters Hill Moocooboola Festival. As required, Monthly (evening – 6pm)
Conservation Advisory Panel Two members of the general community of Hunters Hill Council, as well as reps from the Hunters Hill Trust, National Trust and the Institute of Architects appointed by nomination for a term of four years. Appointed To consider & advise Council staff on any matter of environmental heritage referred to the Committee by staff, including: Building & development proposals; Plans or policies referred by Council or the General Manager. Monthly (evenings)
Hunters Hill Village Mainstreet Committee Two members of the general community of Hunters Hill Council, as well as reps from the retail and commercial landlord sectors are appointed by nomination for a bi-annual term. TBA
Hunters Hill Access Advisory Group Eight community reps appointed by nomination for four years to promote access for disabled people to Council premises, public places & public buildings in the area. Bi-monthly (daytime)
Public Transport & Traffic Advisory Group Six community reps appointed by nomination for four years (three from each ward) To consider & advise on public transport services to consider & advise on any traffic questions referred by Council before consideration by the Hunters Hill Traffic Committee. Bi-Monthly (evenings)
Seniors Advisory Group Eight community reps appointed by nomination for four years To advise Council on the needs of, and provision of services to, older people in the Municipality. As well as to assist with activities and events for older people including Seniors Week. Monthly (daytime)
