About Council Meetings

How often does the Council meet?

1. The Council is required to meet at least 10 times per year, each time in a different month.

2. Ordinary meetings of the Council are to be held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month in the Council Chamber at the Town Hall, Hunters Hill, commencing at 7.30pm.

3. When a Public Holiday falls on the Monday set down for a meeting, such meeting is to be held on the succeeding Tuesday, unless the Council decides otherwise by resolution.

It is also proposed that no meetings are held in School Holidays as invariably this creates difficulties for applicants and objectors wishing to make representations to Council on development applications.

Public Participation and Speaking at Council Meetings

An Agenda is prepared and available for viewing the Friday before the meeting. Should an item of interest be listed on the Agenda, individuals are able to "Request to Address Council Meeting" by filling out a form of the same name and returning it to Council by 12 noon on the day of the meeting.

To obtain permission to speak at a Council meeting, complete the "Request to Address Council Meeting" form, available for download on our forms page.

You can also download the guidelines for public participation in Council meetings. If you have not spoken at a Council meeting before, please take a moment to read the guidelines before you submit your application for permission to speak at the meeting.
