New Years Eve 2017-2018

Road Closures

The Hunters Hill peninsula will be closed at Church Street overpass from 1.00pm on New Year’s Eve, Sunday 31 December, until midnight.

The purpose of the road closure is to regulate the volume of traffic entering the Hunters Hill peninsula, to prevent congestion and parking problems. This will ensure public safety and emergency access. Police will be enforcing the road closure to permit only entry by local residents and vehicles displaying an authorised entry pass. A driver’s license or proof of residency within the peninsula will need to be shown to gain access to the peninsula.

Park and Ride

Parking will be available for visitors at Boronia Park (Cnr Park & Ryde Rd) from 2pm. The cost of the parking will be $5 per car. State Transit will be running a shuttle bus service to Clarkes Point from 3pm to 1am with three pick up points:

1. Corner Park & Ryde Rd Hunters Hill
2. Opposite St. Joseph’s College.
3. Corner Church Street near Reiby Road.

Entry Passes

A limited number of entry passes will be available for friends and family of residents and commercial businesses on the peninsula.

Passholders are requested to fix their entry passes on their windscreen to allow quicker and easier identification.

Residents will need to show proof of residency, for example a driver’s licence or rates notice to obtain their entry passes.

A maximum number of two passes per household will be available.

If residents require additional passes they will need to show photos or plans to demonstrate that more than two cars can be parked within their property.

Residents are asked to encourage guests to carpool.

Passes are available now from Council’s Customer Service Monday - Friday 8.30am-4.30pm.

Please note that Council will be closed from 22.12.2017 (noon) and will not reopen until 02.01.2018.

New Year’s Eve: Disability Access

Visitors with a Disability Parking Permit will be able to access the peninsula without an access pass issued by Council.

An accessible toilet is available at Clarke’s Point. It is expected that there will be large crowds in the area.
