Nominations For Committees and Groups

Council has recently adopted a Committee, Advisory Committee and Working Party structure for the next three years. Council now invites interested local residents to nominate to serve as a community representative on these Committees, Advisory Groups and Working Parties for a three year period until September 2020.

Nominations will be received up until Friday 17 November 2017 for the following Committees and Groups:

Committee/Advisory Group Meets Function of Committee
Art Exhibition Advisory Committee Monthly (Evenings) • To provide advice to Council on the development and management of the annual Hunters Hill Art Exhibition. • To contribute ideas, community and cultural knowledge to assist the Exhibition. • To make recommendations to Council on any significant operational aspects of the Exhibition.
Events Advisory Committee As required Monthly (Evening) • To provide advice to Council on the development and management of Council’s Annual Program of Events
Conservation Advisory Panel Monthly (Evenings) • To consider & advise Council staff on any matter of environmental heritage referred to the Committee by staff, including: • Building & development proposals. • Plans or policies referred by Council or the General Manager
Public Art Committee As required (Daytime) • To guide the principles of the Public Art Policy
Hunters Hill Village Mainstreet Committee Quarterly (Evening) • Identifying opportunities for improvement of the presentation and amenity of the business precinct through individual and cooperative arrangements involving landlords, business tenants and council. • Actioning initiatives within the Town Centre Master Plan and promoting revitalisation of the Town Centre. • Identifying strategies to attract people and traffic to the business precinct. • Communicating to residents and visitors the benefits of a strong and vibrant business precinct and engaging their support and cooperation in the achievement of the Committee’s objectives. • Reviewing the various strategic documents produced for and by Council to identify and prioritise initiatives.
Gladesville Mainstreet Committee Quarterly (Evening) • Communicating to residents, business owners, landlords and visitors the benefits of a strong and vibrant business precinct and engaging their support and cooperation in the achievement of the Committee’s objectives. • Reviewing the various strategic documents produced for and by both Hunters Hill and Ryde Councils to identify and prioritise initiatives. • Develop strategies to create attractive and friendly places and enhance the economic viability of the Gladesville Village Precinct.
Hunters Hill Access Advisory Group Bi-Monthly (Daytime) • To advise Council on access for disabled people to Council premises, public places & public buildings in the area.
Public Transport & Traffic Advisory Group Bi-Monthly (Evenings) • To consider & advise on public transport services • To consider & advise on any traffic questions referred by Council before consideration by the Hunters Hill Traffic Committee.
Seniors Advisory Group Monthly (Daytime) • To advise Council on the needs of, and provision of services to, older people in the Municipality. • To assist with activities and events for older people including Seniors Week.
Bushland Regeneration Working Party Monthly (Mornings) • To co-ordinate the bushland regeneration program.
