Anzac Memorial Centenary Project

Remembrance Day on the 11 November commemorates the signing of the Armistice that halted the fighting in World War 1. In conjunction with the Anzac Memorial Centenary Project (AMCP) the Office of the Director of Veteran Affairs has enabled the collection of over 1700 soil samples to display on the walls of the War Memorial in Hyde Park. The soil samples will demonstrate the number of places that Diggers in WW1 enlisted from, including Hunters Hill.

A Remembrance Day Service will take place at the RSL Memorial Hall in Alexandra St, Hunters Hill. The morning will commence by students meeting at the Hall and then travelling to the Woolwich soil sample site. Following this those involved will come back to the Memorial Hall for a ceremony at 11.00am. Refreshments will follow at the conclusion of the service. Everyone is welcome.
